Rent-A-Crate

MGR is now offering 42', 48', and 54' crates for rent.   You can rent a crate to housebreak a new puppy, use in transport or temporary housing, use while relatives visit for the holidays, or while fostering for another rescue.

Cost of crate rental is as follows:

Crates must be returned in comparable condition.
Any crates damaged beyond use will be subject to an additional $100.00 fee.   Trays returned in unusable condition will be subject to an additional $50.00 fee.

EnDANEgered Dog Rescue Program

Our EnDANEgered Dog rescue program is designed to help current Dane owners though financial crisis or job loss.   If you own a Dane and are considering surrendering it to rescue due to job loss, having to move, economic hardship, or the behavior of the dog, please contact us for solutions before surrendering, selling, or taking your Dane to an animal shelter.

• Job Loss
  If you or your spouse has recently lost a job and you are unable to feed your Dane, we will provide you with up to (3) bags of Dog Food.   We will do our best to allow you to keep your Dane on his/her current diet, but it will be at the discretion of our Director.   You may be asked to feed a premium alternative for the duration of our assistance.
• Moving
  If circumstances are forcing you to move, please contact us for a list of Dane friendly apartments and rental housing in Knoxville and surrounding counties.   We may also be able to help with low cost, long term boarding for families in transition.
• Economic Hardship
  We have all experienced economic difficulties at one time or another.   If you have a Dane in need of urgent medical care, please contact us to see if we can help.   We may be able to get you discounted vet care, assist with cost, set up a payment schedule, or help you achieve a small, low-interest loan through Care Credit.
• Pet Behavior Problems
  If you are considering surrendering your Dane due to his/her bad behavior (i.e. barking, chewing, jumping, aggression, housebreaking, etc.) we are willing to offer 6 weeks of personalized training free to you in the effort to help you keep your Dane.   You will be required to bring your dog to training class once or twice a week, and you will receive a certificate of completion at the end, with up to 2 sessions of follow-up training for any recurring issues.   If you do not complete your training class, you will be asked to pay a fee of $100.00 for our cost and time. Please remember that while we offer training free to you, it is not free for us.   You must be committed to following through with the entire lesson for the sake of your Dane and your relationship with him/her.

  Currently, this service is only offered to Knoxville area Dane owners. We hope to be able to offer it to all our friends in the future.

• Low Cost Boarding for Previous Adopters
  If you have previously adopted a Dane from Majestic Giants or Great Creatures Rescue, we will offer you vacation boarding for $5 a night.   You will be required to supply your own food and treats.   For an additional $10, we will treat your pet with Frontline/Advantage before going home.   We will also do Nail Trims for $5, ear washing for $2, and bathe your Dane for $10.   Giving medication and love is always free.   We like to see our former "fur-kids" from time to time and we are very negotiable on fees.   : )

Free Spay or Neuter Temporarily Unavailable due to lack of funding

In order to qualify for our free spay or neuter, you must agree to the following terms:

• The dog must be a Great Dane.   At the Director's discretion, an exception to this rule may be made for some Dane mixes.   In such cases, the dog must be over 100lbs and of obvious Dane origin.   We will also do Dane mix litter if Dane parentage can be confirmed.
• You must be the owner of the Great Dane.  
• The Dane must be over 6 months of age and of good health and weight. The only exception to this are accidental litters or litters from rescued mothers.
• You must be willing to bring him/her to the appointment made at our Vet of choice.   The Director will coordinate with you to schedule the appointment for a time that is convenient for you.
• You must be available to pick him/her up at the scheduled time.   Any overnight boarding fees will be paid by you.
• We do not include vaccinations, rabies, or microchipping with the free spay or nueter.
• For a small fee, you can elect to have a gastropexy done at the same time as the surgery. This fee is paid by the owner.
• Any complications, including accidental death, post-surgical infection, suture rupture, etc are not the responsibility of Majestic Giants.   Such issues are between you the owner and the Vet performing the surgery.
• We will spay entire litters of puppies from rescued moms, accidental breedings, or intentional breedings as long as we are allowed to spay the mother as well.   We will also insist on neutering the father if he is known/available.
• Donations to help cover the cost of your dogs alteration are always welcome, but never expected.
