Majestic Giants Great Dane Rescue has been responsible for saving over 200 Great Danes and Danes mixes since our founding in Jan 2009.   We have also saved over two dozen cats and half a dozen other breeds of dogs who have crossed our paths and could not be turned away.

The costs for caring for these animals is tremendous.   Our food bill alone is over $4,000.00 a year.   We are committed to rescuing Danes and Dane mixes from any shelter that we can reach, and that translates into hundreds of dollars per month on gas and travel expenses.   We often coordinate rescue transports with volunteers to make trips cheaper, but these can fall through at the last minute, leaving us to drive or hire a transporter to save the dog.

In addition, we provide full veterinary care for every dog, including, but not limited to:

  • Spay/Neuter
  • Preventative Gastropexy (when appropriate)
  • Vaccines
  • De-worming
  • Heartworm Treatment
  • Microchip
  • Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention
  • Necessary restorative surgeries (Hips, TPLO, tumor removals, etc.)

Our adoption fees are some of the lowest in the country for fully vetted Great Danes.   We can do this through generous donations and support at our fundraisers from people like you.

However, our adoption fees alone DO NOT meet the financial needs of all our rescue dogs.   We must have ongoing fundraisers and community support to help us achieve our goal of never seeing another Dane die in a shelter.

Who We Are

Majestic Giants Great Dane Rescue was founded in January 2009 by a group of dedicated volunteers from the closing rescue Great Creatures Great Dane and Irish Wolfhound Rescue, Inc.   Our mission is to provide safe, temporary housing for homeless, abused, and/or neglected Great Danes and Great Dane mixes.   We are committed to spaying and neutering all animals that pass through our program, without exception.   We also provide high quality nutrition, personalized and full veterinary care, as well as basic housebreaking and crate training skills for all fostered dogs.   We assist potential adopters in choosing the right Dane for their lifestyle, and provide life-long support to both dogs and their families.

Majestic Giants Great Dane Rescue is not a sanctuary.   We believe in the future of our breed, and as such, we do not adopt out dogs with known "aggression" issues to humans.   We believe in the safety of our community, and the value of life.   We will make every effort to rehabilitate, restore, and re-home all Danes placed into our care, but we will not intentionally place an aggressive dog in a home.

We are not a shelter.   There is no "time limit" on dogs in our program, and we do not euthanize dogs due to lack of space or amount of time in rescue.   We do not have a central location where you can come and browse through adoptable dogs.   We do not offer "same day" adoptions.
