Warning: The following story may be a bit graphic.
Vader, as many of you have followed on our website, is a 3 year old mantle Great Dane who was adopted by a fantastic family in December 09. He has a mom, dad, and little girl his own age to love and adore, as well as an older lab fursister, and a foster fursister, our Harlequin girl, Darla. Vader's mom has been a dedicated volunteer and foster parent. She took on Darla, who is 8 years old and has breast cancer, urinary incontinence, and is already one paw in the grave. She dedicated her time to her family, Vader, and to making sure Darla's last days on Earth were loving, warm, and comfortable.
We, at Majestic Giants, have been expecting her to call us at any time, and tell us it was Darla's time to go. But late Saturday night (1/30/10) we got a call that Vader, healthy, perfect Vader, has collapsed behind the couch and had urinated and defecated on himself. His pupils were dilated, his breathing labored and shallow, and he was drooling rivers of saliva.
We met Vader and his mom at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center off Kingston Pike in Knoxville... Click here to read more...

We hope everyone has had a fantastic holiday season! We've been really blessed with wonderful
support in 2009 and are looking forward to another great year. Thanks to all the special
people who adopted, donated, and helped us out with foster-parenting, we've found great homes for
well over forty fantastic Great Danes in 2009. THANK YOU ALL! :)
Love,
Jesse, Rebecca, and all the Majestic Giants
If you'd like to help us with our mission, please send us your pocket change! No donation is too small.

Or, another excellent way to help is to become a foster parent. We are always looking for Great people to care for our Great Danes. Please email foster@majesticgiantsrescue.com for more information.
MGR spent over $18,000.00 in 2009 on vet care alone for our Majestic Giants. We also spent just under 4,000.00 on the cost of food. Gas for travel and misc. expenses (like crates, toys, leashes, etc) were mostly covered by individuals and not reflected in our total, but were none the less a substantial burden.
This year, we are hoping to try and save 10 more dogs than last year, a highly acheivable goal. But this goal will be impossible without continued financial support and committed individuals for fostering.
In order to ensure that we reach our goal and continue our efforts, we are starting a new donations program. Majestic Giants Benevolent Benefactors are individuals, famlies, or companies that sponsor us with monthly donations. Your regular, monthly donations mean medical bills get paid, good food is always available, and homes are found for unwanted, neglected, or abused Great Danes.
There are three levels you may choose from, or you may choose to give whatever amount is comfortable for you.
| Puppy | 10.00 a month supplies vaccinations and a heartworm test for one Great Dane. |
| Adult | 40.00 a month supplies vaccinations, heartworm test, and a microchip for one Great Dane. |
| Senior | 100.00 a month supplies vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip, and a spay or neuter for one Great Dane. Thats 12 Danes a year fully vetted and saved because of your generous donation. |
Any amount over, under or in between means lives saved. One time donations are ALWAYS appreciated, as often they come just in the nick of time, when a Dane needs emergency care or an expensive surgery.
For more informaion on becoming a Benefactor, one time donations, or donations of your time or talents, please call us at 865-803-6143 or email our Director at rebecca@MajesticGiantsRescue.com.
We at Majestic Giants are all volunteers and do not have an office location. However, we are quite connected in the digital sense. Most members have cell phones and email addresses. Please feel free to contact us via email at any time. We prefer to keep phone calls between the hours of 8am and 10pm. Please know that most of us have "day-jobs" and you may need to leave voicemail. We'll get back to you within an hour or two. Thank you for your understanding.
We at Majestic Giants would like to offer our deep and sincere gratitude to the wonderful men and women of Ogle, Elrod, and Baril. Their recent donation will save numerous lives and offer a more comfortable life to our Scooby Blue. Thank you, Jason, for your generous spirit and for the miracle you delivered to us and these orphans.
On behalf of the many Great Danes we hope to save, thank you
again to everyone who is a part of making this rescue happen.
